Ragdoll genetics in the game

The Ragdoll has the richest color palette in Catmaster: seal, blue, chocolate, lilac, rare cinnamon and fawn, plus orange, cream and tortie females. Body patterns range from bicolour and highmitted to mitted and van, with separate genes for face and leg markings. Colorpoint intensity depends on the siamese gene, and tabby stripes only appear with a dominant agouti allele.

Temperament and shows

In the game each cat rolls one of six personality types. A confident Ragdoll gets a bonus in beauty pageants – and with its large body and silky coat, the breed shines in the beauty ring.

The breed in the real world

Ragdolls were bred in the 1960s in California and recognized by FIFe in 1991. The name comes from their habit of going limp like a rag doll when picked up.

FAQ

What colors can a Ragdoll have in Catmaster?

Seal, blue, chocolate, lilac, cinnamon, fawn, orange and cream – plus tortie („spots") females. Colors are computed from the genotype, so rare combinations like fawn require carefully planned pairings.

Is the Ragdoll a good starter breed?

Yes. It has the most complex color genetics of the three starter breeds, which means the most to discover – but caring for it works exactly the same as for any other cat.
